DEDICATED TO PRESERVING YOUR RIGHT
  TO RIDE

A.B.A.T.E. Of UTAH is for ALL MOTORCYCLISTS REGARDLESS OF Make, Style, or Origin of
their Motorcycle

(don't even have to have a motorcycle, even the enthusiasts are WELCOME!)

WHAT IS A.B.A.T.E.?????

This is a question that many A.B.A.T.E. members, let alone the general public find difficult to answer.  The word
A.B.A.T.E. is an acronym that stands for AMERICAN BIKERS AIMING TOWARDS EDUCATION.
Nationwide motorcyclists are under attack from state and federal government, insurance companies and a
population with preconceived ideas about motorcyclists.

As an organization we serve as a central source of information for Utah’s motorcyclists.  A.B.A.T.E.  Is a not for
profit organization dedicated to freedom of the road for all motorcyclists from all walk of life.  We are seeking
to join together Utah’s motorcycle community in an effort to work towards realistic legislation o ensure safety
and freedom of our public roads, providing motorcycles awareness and safety programs to the general public
and promote the enjoyment of motorcycling in general.

As a final note we would like to point out that A.B.A.T.E. IS NOT:

A.B.A.T.E. IS NOT AFFILIATED TO ANY PARTICULAR TYPE OF RIDER OR MOTORCYCLE

A.B.A.T.E. IS NOT A CLUB OR GANG

A.B.A.T.E IS NOT A SECRET SOCIETY OR FRATERNAL GROUP

FURTHERMORE:
** A.B.A.T.E  being the S.M.R.O.,[State Motorcyclists Rights Organization]  and the only one in Utah .  A.B.A.T.E
OF UTAH IS A
NOT - FOR - PROFIT ORGANIZATION. AND A.B.A.T.E OF UTAH IS THE ONLY MOTORCYCLE
LEGISLATION THAT IS HERE IN THE STATE OF UTAH THIS YEAR.
CHAPTER MEETINGS ARE HELD EVERY
2ND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH 10:30 AM AT
THE FILLING STATION IN MAGNA!  ALL
WELCOME TO ATTEND,
MEETINGS ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR
THIS ORGANIZATION. THEY ARE FUN,
INFORMATIVE, AND INTERESTING!!
ABATE has been a very consistent organization over the years, even with all the ups
and downs we have had to go through, ABATE has always remained fairly
consistent in what we do.  In the last few months we have had to go out of our
realm to see what could be done about discrimination issues that impact the
motorcycle community and our members.
We have been talking in our meetings about who is suppose to be involved and
what they are suppose to be doing.  As we all know discrimination is a huge
umbrella of complications and dysfunction and is very difficult to be heard or
understood when you are being discriminated against.  In the March meeting we
will have cards that you can fill out if you have been discriminated against and we
will also discuss how discrimination is determined.

I would like to take this opportunity and tell you what ABATE is:
ABATE is a neutral organization that allows all motorcycle riders and motorcycle
enthusiast to unite in a brotherhood to safeguard our rights and still be individuals
with different views.  The letters ABATE stand for “American Bikers Aimed Towards
Education” and was also known as “A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian
Enactment”.  ABATE of Utah is a State motorcyclist’s rights organization (SMRO)
composed of motorcycle enthusiasts throughout the State.  Putting motorcycle
legislation in its proper perspective is our main objective.  This is accomplished
through safety education programs, public awareness programs and other proposals
designed to prevent fatal or injury accidents.
ABATE feels that all motorcyclists are brothers and sisters with a common
interest… riding free!  Many restrictive or discriminatory laws pertaining to
motorcycles and riders were enacted by a uniformed or misdirected legislature.
ABATE’s goal in Utah is to keep our legislators informed of our feelings about any
bill that we feel would be unfair or discriminatory towards motorcyclists.  To
prevent an unfair Bill from becoming a law is much easier than fighting to get a law
repealed.  ABATE of Utah works with motorcycle rights organizations across the
country to stop unfair Federal legislation aimed at motorcyclists.  ABATE is the
organization that fights and protects the rights of all motorcyclists to ride free on
our Roads!  All ABATE members can participate in the group on what ever level they’
re comfortable with, also members get to stay updated on current events, news and
laws, and members also get a cool patch to put… somewhere.

What ABATE isn’t:
ABATE is not an MC or a Club.
ABATE is not against Helmets, but the forced use helmet law is a blatant
government grab of our personal freedoms.

So you see there’s a lot more too ABATE than not, so tell a friend who rides and
bring them to the next meeting.  Please encourage all of those you know who is not
an ABATE member and to sign up and stay informed!
